    Syntelligent is seeking Systems Engineer- Infrastructure Support in support of the Enterprise Cyber Network Defense (ECND) program in Washington, DC.  The Systems Engineer skilled in applying in-depth sustainment support of enterprise network cyber defense capabilities to prevent sophisticated cyber threats and vulnerabilities, or detection of them when prevention fails.

    The qualified candidate will be responsible for performing procedures necessary to ensure the protection and safety of information systems assets from intentional, inadvertent access or destruction, and mitigate network and system vulnerabilities and security events towards improving the security posture of Department of Defense (DOD) and Intelligence Community (IC) networks and information systems.

    This position is challenging, fast-paced, and requires hands-on use of Cyber Defense Tools and Capabilities in a global intelligence enterprise.


    1. Provide Tier-2* operation and maintenance of Windows and Linux Operating Systems.
    2. Provide Tier-2 operation and maintenance of vendor based Cyber Defense systems like, Fire-Eye, Fidelis, Gigamon and others.
    3. Provide Tier-2 operation and maintenance of custom Cyber Defense systems like Bro, Snort, and Suricata.
    4. Demonstrate and apply in-depth understanding and logical trouble-shooting of IT systems.
    5. Identify improvements in processes and technology to enhance efficiencies
    6. Communicate with customers and teammates clearly, concisely, and professionally.
    7. Create functional documentation, standard operating procedures, and granular process checklists.
    8. Execute and Coordinate the upgrading of operating systems, applications, and hardware of Cyber Defense Systems.
    9. Create and provide input for documentation of new or existing systems.
    10. Provide peer training and technical guidance to Tier-1 and other Tier-2 Personnel. 11. Maintain knowledge of relevant and emerging CND technologies.


    *Tier 2 is defined as services provided at the Agency enterprise level for all DIA managed networks and system assets for all security domains, by enterprise wide services to assure the security, availability, authenticity, integrity, confidentiality of information, and protection of its information technology and data resources.





    Required Experience:
    • Skills and Tasks. Exceptionally Complex - researches and evaluates new concepts and processes to improve performance. Analyzes cross-functional problem sets, identifies root causes and resolves issues. Assists more junior level technicians, specialists, and managers in their activities. Can perform all tasks of lower level technicians, specialists, and/or managers. O
    • Leadership/Management. Works individually, actively participates on integrated teams, and leads multiple tasks, projects or teams. Oversees and monitors performance, and when required, takes steps to resolve issues.
    • Directs multiple teams through to project completion. Provides guidance and direction to lower level technicians, specialists, and managers.
    • Training and Certifications. DoD 8570 compliance (IAT II and IASAE II) or information assurance certification commensurate with technical objectives and services required within the task order. Applicable software or hardware training and certifications commensurate with the technical objectives, services required, and IT environment specified within the task order.

      • HS/GED + 10 years
      • Associates Degree + 8 years
      • Bachelor’s Degree + 6 years
      • Master’s Degree + 4 years
      • PhD + 2 years • LEVEL 4
    • TS/SCI with ability to obtain CI Poly
