    Syntelligent is seeking a Strategic Communications Officer to support an existing DoD Contract in Bethesda, MD.

    Job Summary:


    The main focus of the Strategic Communications Officer is to market the organization within the community, through regular reporting vehicles, individual projects, and tasking as requested from the customer. The role requires working closely with front office staff members to ensure strong collaboration and coordination in ensuring the organization’s presence throughout the Intelligence Community (IC).


    Principal Accountabilities:

     

    • Assist in the development of the strategic communications program to elevate the organization's profile.
    • Collaborate in the development and execution of a marketing plan to ensure existing and potential customers are aware of the full scope of capabilities.
    • Perform quality assurance for a wide variety of documents according to established guidelines.
    • Edit and assist in the implementation of Style Guides and Standard Operating Procedures for Quality Assurance.
    • Attend briefings and meetings to identify topics for development into articles for publication as part of the customer’s outreach effort.
    • Coordinate tasks associated with preparation and released publications (e.g. End of Year Report).
    • Prepare monthly situation report.
    • Prepare weekly significant activities report.
    • Research, write, and edit articles and oversee related graphic production as assigned.
    • Manage the day-to-day activities and provide weekly status updates.
    • Review creative concepts and provide editorial input at customer’s request.
    • Provide appropriate input for customer-specific marketing and editorial needs and requirements.

    Qualifications

     

    Experience:

    • 5+ years of experience as a professional writer/editor
    • Experience using Desktop Publishing applications
    • Understanding of communications standards and protocols
    • Experience with DOMEX preferred
    • Excellent Communications skills, both written and verbal
    • Experience writing and editing IC Communications
    • Experience assisting in developing a strategic communications plan
    • Experience generating and presenting performance metrics and statistics-based reports to support decisions
    • strong background in direct interaction and communication with senior leadership personnel
    • strong technical editing background, especially in executive communications, which includes proven skills in using correct grammar and punctuation, and the ability to write clearly and succinctly

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Communications or Technical field or equivalent experience

    Clearance:

    • Active TS/SCI and passing CI Poly before start date
